source site In qualifying Simon Baines took Class pole from Tony Rivers and Kelvin Laidlaw in Class R, while in the hot battle for Class E, Ian Sumner out qualified Michal Pavlik both on their first visit for the circuit. As expected Keith Ahlers was on outright pole from Russell Paterson in his very powerful Class A +8 by 2.5 seconds! As usual there were fantastic battles throughout the grid in the race but at the end of 30 minutes Tony Rivers triumphed in Class R from Simon Baines and Michal Pavilk won Class E after a race long battle with James Sumner. Phill Thomas in his new +4SS jumped an incredible 10 places and took over 6 seconds off his practice time. This achievement was recognised by the driver of the day award and was well deserved. All in all an excellent day for the RTCC class winners and all our other racers.
