SPA 6 Hour

go here Class Podium GTS 10 2nd in class! This is the first time RTCC has entered a Morgan for the gruelling race on the wonderful Spa-Franco champ 7KM circuit. This was the 24th running of the event with an amazing 104 entrees, including 10 ford GT 40’s!
SPA 6 Hour RTCC built the 1964 4/4 comp (Pearl 2) for Roger Whiteside last year and she has already scored some class wins.  With 3 drivers required for the 6 hour Richard was delighted to be asked to share the car along with Tom Jones.

here The race was not without it’s dramas as the brand new electronic ignition distributor caused a serious misfire fairly early in the race necessitating a pitstop to convert the entire ignition system back to the original points.  Apart from this the little 1500 CC Ford engine ran strongly throughout and most importantly only needed one fuel stop.  As the Lotus Elan and Alfa T2 opposition wilted only one Elan was just ahead at the finish.  Three +8’s were also entered competing for the Eau Rouge trophy as they are too new to compete for the overall results.  The cut off being 1965.  All ran well with Keith Ahlers car finishing 12th over all.

watch All in all a very strong showing for Morgan at this prestigious race.
