1954 Morgan +4 THY 60 “Tiny” FIA race / rally car

1954 Morgan +4 THY 60 “Tiny” FIA race / rally car. Recent Le Mans Classic and Goodwood race history. A rare opportunity to acquire one of only a handful of pre-56 Morgan FIA race cars eligible and highly competitive in Plateau 2 at Le Mans Classic and Goodwood’s Tony Gaze Trophy (8th Overall at the 2023 Members Meeting!) routinely beating more exotic machinery at a fraction of the cost! Originally acquired by Richard from Kelvin and Vanessa Lee in 2001 in highly developed hill climb trim, Tiny was returned to her correct 1954 specification of drum brakes and 2.0 Litre TR2 Engine on SU carburettors in time for the gruelling 2002 Rally of the Tests where Richard took a fiercely contested class win in the up to 2800cc class. Since 2012 she has competed four times at Le Mans, a highlight was winning an Index of Performance race outright in 2014’s Le Mans Classic amongst many other class wins, including winning Class 4 of the 2023 Fiscar series. Tiny has a well known and documented history from new competing on a rally (on trade plates!) with first owner Tiny Lewis in December 1954 to winning a Morgan Challenge race outright with previous owner Chas Windridge up to the modern historic race successes. Presented ready to race in 2024 with a fresh steel Mass engine with less than 7 hours running time and FIA HTP’s to 2032. 1981 Morgan 4.6 +8 Class 1 race car; multiple current race winning car in Morgan challenge race series; but also, eligible and very competitive in classic sports car clubs Future Classics. Previously owned by Philip Goddard, the current owner required the car 2012 and had the car maintained with no expense spared by Techniques. Class 1 cars are the most modified in the challenge series although they retain the original chassis, they are effectively a space frame chassis which adds considerable stiffness.
