£44950.00
1972 Datsun 240Z Competition car. Originally registered in California where it began as a road car and later converted to circuit racing. It was imported to the UK in 2014 as a rot free road/race car. Here it was stripped to a bare shell and rebuilt in red with satin black bonnet and historic safari decals. Engine has been swapped to the homologated 2800cc with high lift camshaft and gas flowed cylinder head. Lightened & balanced this produces 230-250bhp breathing through triple 40DCOE Webbers and sports exhaust system giving a lovely bark under load and revving freely to 6000rpm. Aluminium radiator, electric fan, twin facet fuel pumps, fuel lines recently replaced. Nissan Sylvia close ratio gearbox and subaru rear limited slip differential which is mounted in the safari spec diff cage with uprated half shafts and CV joints, Bilstein period suspension all around, vented front disc with four pot callipers. Car has an MSA Log Book and Historic Rally Vehicle Identity Form, it is period correct however the rear brakes have been converted to disc with Cosworth callipers but can easily be changed back to drum operation for historic competition depending on current regulations. Seats and belts would need bringing up to current competition regulations.
